Use this applet from Ron Barrow’s Waldomaths on fractions to study examples and learn how to handle fractions.
The fractions A and B can be changed and you can then add, subtract, multiply or divide the two fractions.

Thank you to the teachers who have given their time to set up this very helpful website. I am very grateful.
I’m glad it is all helpful Arianne. I really like Ron Barrow’s Waldomaths site. If teachers use it in class, students can then use it at home. Similarly with all the other excellent free tools.

Ah, I finally understand this! At first I found this confusing, but this had helped me a lot. Thank you!
That’s great Delma, I’ll pass on your thanks to Ron Barrow.
Wow, that is a rather novel way of looking at that set of equations and one that I am rather partial to. The equations are at a constructive level; not too easy or too hard, just at the challenging stage. It has really helped me broaden my knowledge of fractions. Thank you to the teachers who set it up. Also, on a rather untwisted note, I love the profile pics of symmetrical patterns, as they are pretty, yet correspond to the mathematics point of view.

Errr, having said that, a few of them are really super hard!!!!!!!
